Dr. Saeed Dastgiri is mainly involved in activities in the field of public health genetics including control, epidemiology and prevention of congenital anomalies, genetic risks, and genetic knowledge and education. He was awarded, in 2020, the Down syndrome research prize & medal for achievements in the field of birth defects in the Eastern Mediterranean Region of the World Health organization (WHO).
